Everyone can get involved in the Cincinnati Flying Pig, whether you live in Cincinnati area or not. As a Partner Charity of the event, we're participating in this weekend to raise awareness of SOTENI and our critical work with communities in rural Kenya and families living with AIDS.
The Flying Pig also helps SOTENI through fundraising opportunities it provides. SOTENI benefits every time someone registers to run or walk with a code that we can provide. Runners and walkers can then choose to raise funds individually, or supporters can sponsor our guest runner from Kenya, Paul Odipo.
Another way to get involved is to volunteer with us on Saturday, May 3rd at the 5k/10k finish line. Again we can provide you with a code to use when registering. April 24th is the deadline to register.
Don't hesitate to contact the office 513-729-9932513-729-9932 or firstname.lastname@example.org for the necessary codes to join SOTENI's volunteer team and run/walk team.
More about Paul
Paul Odipo has returned to Cincinnati, making this his second visit to the States to participate in the FPM. This year he will be running th 4-Way Challenge (the5k, 10k, half and full marathons). He has been preparing for months by running 70-80 miles per week.
A Message from Paul - I have personally lost close family members due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and have had to help care for the orphaned children left behind. It is with this in mind that I collaborate with and support SOTENI International as it reaches out to those impacted by HIV/AIDS in Kenya. The challenges for those left behind are daunting, thus it is imperative that we join hands to infuse their lives with a ray of hope. SOTENI Villages of Hope do just that.
I am thankful for all the support and encouragement I have received over time, but must make a humble appeal to all well-wishers and supporters for the support of this worthy cause. With each step, yard, and mile, let us reach out and help those who are cheering us on to go just a little further on their behalf.
